Some Great Tips to start your eBay business

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I’ve just heard about an exciting opportunity that I had to share
with you right away. It involves the website eBay.com, and
requires a bit of work on your part.

However, the payoff for you could be absolutely HUGE!

Let me explain…

I just received a message from Derek Gehl of the Internet
Marketing Center, who had some pretty amazing news…

He told me that for the first time ever, he’s convinced his
elite team of eBay PowerSellers to let him put their proven
success system down on paper, so ANYONE can use it to achieve
life-changing income on eBay.

(This is the same system his eBay experts are using to teach
their students how to build their own successful eBay
businesses.

Many of these students are making $1,000 to $10,000 a month on
eBay — within a matter of weeks!)

Anyway, here’s where the ‘opportunity’ part comes in…

See, because this is the first time he’s released this system to
the general public, he needs more people who can “testify” that
his system actually works.

If making a LOT of money (at least $100,000+ in your first year)
is something that interests you, I’d like to invite you to check
out a “review copy” of his new eBay profit system and give it a
try!

And because he’s so certain you’re going to achieve incredible
success with this system, he’s willing to let you test-drive it
absolutely risk free for a full 30 days — for only 99 cents!

Derek is banking on the fact that you’ll be up and running and
making BIG profits on eBay in the next month or so, and will
write him a nice “testimonial” that he can put up on our web
page when he rolls out his full launch of this system to the
public.

If not, no big deal… Just send it back and it won’t have cost
you anything.

Creating a Well-Optimized Site

We’ve been talking a lot about developing content and selecting keywords and now it’s time to start putting it all together. When you begin to map out your web site, you must do so while considering something known as “search engine optimization.” All this means is that you’ve created a site that is optimal for ranking high on search engines.

Information Architecture

To do this, you much first create an appropriate site structure (the information architecture) by outlining your topics and creating a hierarchy for your site information. Most sites typically have three page levels.

Level-one pages are home pages. Here you identify your primary topic and introduce visitors to your site. Next, establish your level-two pages. Create one page for each of the keyword topics you’ve already researched and tested (refer to Refining Keywords to Generate Increased Traffic ). Last, identify your level-three pages. Any keyword subtopics you determined should be used for this level, with these pages containing the most specific information for each of your broadest topics. Consider the following example—

Level 1

Travel Around the World

Level 2 Itineraries Expenses Necessities

By mapping out, your level-one, -two, and -three pages, you’ll quickly see how best to organize your site. And, after you’ve determined how to lay out your pages, you’re ready to begin organizing the information on each page.

Meta Tags

There are two primary sections to every web page: a head (page title) and a body (page content). The head includes much more than is actually seen. Visitors only see the page title, which appears in the top left corner of the browser. More important than what visitors see, however, is what they don’t––the meta tags included in each head.

Meta tags include the keywords for each page, the description of each page, and the title of each page. Well-written meta tags are essential to ensure that search engineers appropriately rank your site. The words included in the meta tags are the words that spiders, programs sent out by search engines to review and index your site, detect and evaluate when ranking your site.

By including accurate keywords and phrases in your meta tags, you ensure that search engines find your site and rank the information appropriately. Keyword tags should include words that represent the specific information for each page. For the example above, the meta keyword tag might read <meta name=”Keywords” content=”world travel, travel budget” /> .

Description tags should include keywords and phrases that visitors likely will use when conducting searches Using the same example, the meta description tag might appear <meta name=”Description” content=”This page contains details for creating travel itineraries, packing for travel, travel expenses.” />. Remembering that your meta description tag can be lengthy and should include all of your best keywords. Play with the order and use words and phrases that tested well.

Content

The second section of a page is the body. Clearly, you want your copy to be relevant to the topic of each page. Within the body, however, it’s important to again include those tested keywords. Search engines use detailed algorithms to determine keyword density. So, while you want to include keywords, avoid overusing them or repeating them unnecessarily. By ensuring that their inclusion is relevant and information worthy, you ensure that your site will rank well.

It’s here that you will also write your page headings (not to be confused with the page head). Headings are your H1 through H6 tags. These are used to format content and relate to the type size. These headings describe the page and reflect the content on each page. Including relevant keywords in your headings will help your reader determine what information they can expect to find and, again, increase your ranking with search engines.

While this information may seem overwhelming, and the process time-consuming, remember that taking the time to do it right the first time will go a long way toward creating an effective––and profitable––site.
